| The purpose of the "Storozh" software is collecting and processing of the telemetry information from the remote devices, dispatching events and generate controlling impacts according to the system state (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition). Application areas vary: * management of the automated equiment; * emergency alarm systems (gas stations, dangerous manufactories etc); * security systems etc. Modular architecture of "Storozh" allows to use it either as a telemetry collector on the minimal PC equipment, as well as for graphical visualisation of the system status. Integracja informacji DB2 odkrywa przed użytkownikiem nowe możliwości współdzielenia i wykorzystywania danych. Dwie najważniejsze nowości w dziedzinie integracji informacji to: * konsolidacja informacji pochodzących od różnych dostawców usług sieci Web osiągnięta dzięki wykorzystaniu rozproszonych usług sieci Web, * narzędzia do automatycznej integracji XML-a z danymi relacyjnymi. Solidny fundament dla e-biznesu E-biznes stawia przed systemami baz danych jakościowo nowe wymagania w dziedzinie skalowalności, wydajności i dostępności. Aby im sprostać w DB2 v8.1 zastosowano:: * koncentrator połączeń umożliwiający obsługę większej liczby użytkowników, * zaawansowane algorytmy kompresji, * mechanizmy umożliwiające przeprowadzanie podstawowych operacji w trybie on-line (reorganizacja tabel, zmiany konfiguracji, masowe ładowanie danych). Zintegrowane BI W celu przyspieszenia zwrotu z inwestycji i usprawnienia pracy systemu z DB2 zostały zintegrowane najważniejsze technologie stosowane w hurtowniach baz danych. Na szczególną uwagę zasługuje tu nowa funkcja wielowymiarowego grupowania danych, poprawiające w znacznym stopniu wydajność charakterystycznych dla BI, złożonych zapytań. Zwiększenie wydajności prac nad rozwojem aplikacji DB2 współpracuje z najważniejszymi, otwartymi standardami. Unowocześnione narzędzie Development Center umożliwia korzystanie zarówno ze środowiska Java jak i Microsoft. Narzędzie to może pracować jako niezależna aplikacja albo jako komponent zintegrowany z WebSphere Studio Application Developer (różne platformy) lub Microsoft Visual Studio (Windows). | ||

| Ion is a tiling tabbed window manager designed with keyboard users in mind. Ion was written as an experiment on a different kind of window management model. It tries to address the navigation problem by dividing the screen into mutually non-overlapping frames that take up the whole screen. Big displays have so much space that this should be convenient and smaller displays couldn't show more than one window at a time anyway. The frame layout is, of course, dynamic and different on each workspace. Given the organised tree based instead of an unorganised coordinate-based frame layout, moving between the frames can be conveniently done from the keyboard. As in PWM, the frames may have multiple clients attached, each indicated with a tab. | ||
