W ten sposób, można mieć platformę czasu rzeczywistego, z małymi opóźnieniami i wysoce przewidywalnymi wymaganiami, wraz z całym "normalnym" (nie real-time) środowiskiem Linuxowym (dostęp do TCP/IP, systemów wyświetlania i okienkowych, plików i baz danych, itd.) RTAI oferuje te same serwisy co rdzeń jądra Linux, dodając cechy przemysłowego systemu czasu rzeczywistego. | ||
