This program is backup software, you can use it to build simple backup's of directories.
It reads a configuration file, one per backup directory, then it builds a compressed file from the directory that is suppose to be backup, and places the compressed file into another directory. This directory can be for example a network mapped drive in windows, a nfs mounted drive in unix, another hard disk, etc.
This will duplicate your information, doing the so called "backup".
