retty
retty allows users to attach to input/output of processes running on another terminal, and after doing planned work, return program back onto the original one. This can be used for example when you run some application locally, then go somewhere out and suddenly you want to remotely use this already running application (read the e-mails, continue with editing file, ...). Unlike screen, you don't have to do any preparations, you just run retty on the running process. |
