kmc_utils is a small package of utilities for downloading images off of and controlling Monochrome and Color Kodak Motion Corder Analyzer fast digital cameras. It currently consists of libraries for accessing images on the camera and controlling the camera and two command line programs implementing these functions.

Jhead is a command line utility for extracting digital camera settings from the EXIF format files used by many digital cameras. It handles the various confusing ways these can be expressed, and displays them as F-stop, shutter speed, and more. It is also able to reduce the size of digital camera JPEG files without loss of information, by deleting thumbnails that digital cameras put into the EXIF header.

Exifprobe is a tool to probe and report the structure and contents of JPEG and TIFF image files. The program will 'probe' image files which begin with a valid JPEG SOI or a valid TIFF header, and will recognize all standard JPEG and TIFF marker tags (and many "private" TIFF tags), including APPn markers, EXIF2.2 tags, and camera MakerNotes which are found to be in TIFF IFD format. The program makes no effort to decode or manipulate actual image data, but reports ALL tag information that it finds, in a manner which demonstrates the structure of the file.

If you've got a digital camera, your hard disk probably contains many directories full of pictures all named with the same names. This utility allows you to merge such directories' contents into a new directory, and renames all the pictures on the fly, ensuring no filename clash will occur.
