Quickedit is simple and fast sound editor for Gnome. Currently is supported only Linux on x86 architecture. It is still in development and many features and functions are missing.
Quickedit can edit WAV and MP3 files. For decoding MP3 files is used external program mpg123, WAV files are played directly. Quickedit is block oriented sound editor: instead of direct working with files it works with blocks of pointers to files.

This script was made to help in organizing MP3s. If you have one directory with a lot of MP3s and the names are not very readable, you can run this script against them. It will read the ID tag of a MP3 and rename the file to the title of the song with _ instead of spaces. It can also create a directory structure from the ID tag, in the format "/BANDNAME/CDTITLE/SONG.mp3."
